Contextual advertising is a form of advertising on a web page that is targeted to be relevant to the pages content or to the interests of the web page visitor (which may not match that of the pages content). These are are dynamic and served by automated systems.
An example of this is Google’s Adsense. Where a visitor may be shown Ads related to previous searches rather than just those related to the content of the particular web page they are viewing.
