A Newsgroup is an Internet discussion group where groups of users gather to talk about a specific topic. The Newgroups are hosted within the Usenet system transfered between news servers and clients using the NNTP protocol (Network News Transfer Protocol).
Users typically have to subscribe to each newsgroup and require a news reader capable of communicating using the NNTP Protocol.
