Traffic

In essence, Traffic is just the visitors to a website. The total traffic is the total number of website visitors in a measured period.

Traffic is frequently measured in terms of where the visitor was referred from.

Example:

Paid traffic – The visitors that came to your site by clicking on a paid banner or advert.

Search Engine traffic – The visitors who were directed to your site following a search within the search engines (Bing, Google, Yahoo. etc)

Organic or Natural Search traffic – The visitors who were directed to your site from non-paid for sources such as a general search engine query.
