Web 2.0 refers to the second generation of internet-based services, it does not particular relate to any major technology changes but changes to the way in which content is created and used.
Web 2.0 focuses more on websites where users can collaborate and share information online. This is actually more in line with the vision of the World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee which was to create a place where people could collaborate, meet, read and write.
Examples of Web 2.0 are Wikis including Wikipedia, Blogs, Social media sites such as Facebook
